I’m a multidisciplinary designer, artist, and insatiably curious patron of all things creative. Born in LA, I grew up in the high desert where I spent much of my time making art and mixtapes. Right after high school, I studied audio engineering, but after working as a runner at a recording studio, I realized that the traditional path of working your way up in a studio was quickly fading with the industry’s rapid changes. I then decided to channel my creative energy into visual arts, such as graphic design.
I studied both graphic and interactive design at The Art Institute, earning degrees in both, because two complementary Associate’s degrees should equal one Bachelor’s degree, right? Okay, maybe not on paper, but it served me well. It helped me to develop a more holistic approach to design, exercising both conceptual and technical thinking. As a result, I’ve since had a broad range of experiences that include graphic design for print advertising, and UX and UI design for web-based sales flows and mobile apps. I also gained just enough understanding of code and how interfaces are built to work effectively with engineers on scalable design solutions that can be built within their constraints.
